I have an SD card in my TT1 to give me space to add camera warnings; when connected up to TT online and carrying out a software update do I need to remove the card first? Is the software only meant to go into the TT1 memory?
If removing the card is the correct way to carry out an update, what action is required if the card has been left in during an update. Just wondering if this is the reason I've lost audio after reading a related post.

I have trouble keeping up with all the various versions of the ONE. Does it work without the SD card in it?

With a TomTom One or XL device that has the SD card slot if you are using the SD card to store the maps then the Navcore software and all associated files and folders MUST be on the memory card as the device has no way of sharing the built in memory known as Flash Memory with a memory card.
If an SD card is inserted to the device it will boot from the card or throw an error screen up if it cannot find the required files it needs.

In short if you are using the SD card in the One/ XL leave the SD card inserted during any update, the issue of taking the SD card out mentioned in the newsletter really only applies to the x20/ x30 devices - Mike
