Software selection help

At the moment I have a PalmOne Zire 72 with TomTom Navigator 5 software. Although still perfectly adequate I seem to be driving over more and more ploughed fields than ever before.

So, perhaps, time for an update.

I assume that V6 of the software will run on the Zire (unless you know better) but that is also quite old now and, I believe, not being updated any further.

Apparently, I have no hope of running V7.

So does anybody know of any up to date software that will run under Palm OS?

What are the alternatives?

I don't want a dedicated SatNav device (yet another thing to carry round) and one of these wonderous new mobile phones are (a) far too complicated and (b) the screens are far too small to be of use for SatNav (my Zire has a 3.2" screen)

Has anyone used one of the new netbooks for SatNav?
What software would you recommend?
Are there any carmounts/power devices available?

I afraid to say I dont give you much hope, I have been looking for Palm gps software for My cookien and mainly it would appear to be pay as you use over phone network (I only want location not navigation), If you can use TTN6 on palm then I think this the best available, in my opinion the latest Teleatlas V8 are not much better than the previous V6.75, sorry if this is not good news, But if anybody has better news i would most certainly like to know.
