|

HI. Following on from a previous thread, I have another question.
My m8 decided to upgrade his map. He paid £60 for the Western European upgrade from v675.1409 too 825.2159. After it crashed!! once, on his very slow computer, I brought it home, and using his log on details, I downloaded it again and everything went smoothly!!! Now, when I tap the screen on the right hand side, it is still showing v675.1409 for the map!! He has an "Integral 2Gb" card which my computers card reader wont read. TT Home tells me that this upgrade is on the TT. Any help would be really appreciated.
chelsky.
PS. I am about to try to install the upgrade without the card. |

It may be that the map was installed to the internal memory? Does the unit boot without the SD card installed? If so what does it report in this case? _________________ Darren Griffin |

Do you mean it reports the same v6 map version when booting without the card?
The other thing to check is the Manage Maps option in Change Preferences. Are you given a choice of maps to switch between? When connected to the computer, do you see two Western_Europe (or similar named) folders on the device? _________________ Darren Griffin |

Was there more than one ONE XL model that came with an SD Card slot? _________________ Darren Griffin |

Nah.. ignore me. I'd read the post and there was no model mentioned at all. It was only in the title... |

Ah so there is your answer. Your mate has purchased a slightly different version of the map and so HOME has installed it as another map rather than overwrite the existing one.
If you switch to the one that is not currently loaded you should find it is the later map version. _________________ Darren Griffin |

The new map, offered by home by the way, is the new version 825.2159.
Can I delete the older map or leave it alone and leave the new one selected. Thanks |

Entirely up to you. If you do choose to delete it, take a copy and keep on your PC just in case before deleting via HOME. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Thanks for all your help Darren, really is appreciated. What I will do is make a backup with the sd card in and make a backup of Western Europe in a separate folder. All with Explorer of course |
