|

Okay, well here goes... I noticed that there was an update when I plugged my device in so went for it. I don't have an SD card yet but I backed up the entire device through Windows Explorer when I first got it.
There was a problem with the TomTom server and it took me several attempts to update. When it was finished I had the reduced volume problem which some other users have suffered. So I thought I would restore the unit to its default state by copying everything from the PC back to the device.
Now it's stuck at the startup screen. It won't power off, I can do a reset but when I start it up again it just goes to the startup screen. I hope I haven't ruined it, I haven't used it for a journey yet.
If someone could help me I would be extreemly grateful.

Okay, finally managed to do as suggested but still the same.
Anyone got anything else to try please? I'm looking at a very expensive paperweight at the moment.

Well, had another try this morning and have got it working at least. Still have the problem of the reduced volume though!
Thanks Dave for pointing me in the right direction.
