Hi kirsty321,
OK, you're using a TomTom unit, do you know which one it is?
Which camera database are you using, is it the PocketGPSWorld one or the TomTom one?
If it's the PocketGPSWorld camera database, have you loaded the following type of files into the map folder "Western_and_Central_Europe":
****.OV2
****.BMP
and optionally
****.OGG
****X2.BMP
Where **** = the name of the camera database file
Have you rebooted the device to see the database?
How many custom POIs (.OV2) files do you have in your map folder?

Hi kirsty321,
Have you followed the instructions for tomtom units here?

The file name is something like:
pocketgps_uk_gatso_20.ov2 - database
pocketgps_uk_gatso_20.bmp - icon
pocketgps_uk_gatso_20.ogg - (optional) sound file
pocketgps_uk_gatso_20X2.ov2 - (optional) large warning icon

Conect your TomTom to the PC and use Windows Explorer to count the number of *.OV2 files in the map folder.
