I am experimenting with Tyre for the first time. After opening Google maps and typing a post code into the search box it takes me to a location nearby (2 miles or so). Any suggestions? _________________ Alan

Thanks Andy, but seems a bit laborious if you are inputing several. I guess I could input the postcodes on TomTom, export to Tyre, arrange/edit to my liking and copy back to TomTom. Or perhaps the locations will still be out on Google? I'll give it a try. _________________ Alan

Hi alanji
I use Tyre on a regular basis and I long ago found that the Post Code on Google Maps can be miles out. I do sometimes use the Post Code but only to get me to the general area on the map. If you have the Street information you can then easily find the street, remove your Post Code pin and place another pin on the street, or number.
Believe me, when you do get the hang of Tyre you will see that it is a brilliant way of planning a journey on your PC and transferring to your Tomtom will then be piece of cake. _________________ Tomtom Go 720.

Hi
I notice that the Tyre FAQ has been changed to say the the postcode problem with Tyre can be overcome on v5.4 onwards by prefixing the code with PC: i.e. PC:AB1 2CD. The latest version available for download is v5.303. Hopefully, v5.4 will be available soon and this problem can be avoided.
Cheers - Andy |
