On / Off switch on the S70 3D

The switch on my S70 3D has 3 positions, ON, OFF and RESET. ON is obvious but what is the difference between OFF and RESET? And does it matter if I switch to RESET as it is quite easy when switching off to go past OFF to RESET? I cannot find the answer in the manual or on the UK web site.

OFF is actually Sleep. Switch to this if you know you'll use your unit again soon -- will save you map reload and phone pairing when you turn it on again, unit will just continue where it left of. Fully charged battery will get drained completely in this mode within several days.

RESET is actually Off, turns off unit completely. Use this for storage and air travel. Battery will hold charge longer but on start up you will have to go through map reloading and phone pairing again.
