It appears as if it may be a corrupt download. If you are connected via wireless router/modem, you may wish to use a direct connection for the dl.
Try the download again. _________________ David |

Possibly everyone is trying to download new maps tonight and their servers are falling over again? |

I'm not sure, I tried downloading twice last night and the same thing happened. The map actually downloaded successfully (part 1 of the whole process). The error comes up about 1/4 - 1/3 way thru the actual installation process (part 2 on TT Home).
They are the Western and CE maps I am downloading. I can open the .zip file and see all the map files ok...
I posted a question to TT support but guess I will have to wait a few days at least before a reply. Anyone else having such issues?
Update: I've just run a test check of both downloaded W&CE zip files and they both mark the crpoi.dat file as failed. _________________ TTG 720

I've exactly the same fault...... i.e. crpoi.dat shows as corrupt. D/L map many times but always with the same fault. crpoi.dat file size shows as 47,164,022. Can anybody confirm if this is the correct size please? Mojo - is the file size the same as you have? Anyone know of a fix/workarround? |

Glad it's not just me! Yes, the crpoi.dat file I have is the same size. Anyone else having the same problem for Western & CE v8.25 maps? Or are other maps having the same problem? Maybe a faulty zip on the TT servers? _________________ TTG 720

Mojo I've managed to get the map installed by a bit of jiggery pokery! All appears ok so far so if you do the same it's at your own risk. Backup first etc.
Open the W&CE 2gb zip and highlight crpoi.dat. Right click and choose delete. NB it takes a while to achieve. Then extract as normal.
My sd card is only 2gb so I deleted my old v815 map via Home to ensure room. It backs up the old map prior to removal.
Via Home use the Add Maps function and it should show W&CE as being located on your computer...click Add.
That should do it.
Best of luck.

Hi Mojo / gduvl
I’m glad that I am not the only user suffering from the same error. Mojo, can you let us know how things work out for you on this topic? By the time I hear from Tomtom support it will be near Christmas. _________________ Tomtom Go 720.

I logged a call with TT support and got a "reply" below... Has anyone else managed to get the W&CE c8.25 maps installed successfully? I haven't tried gduvl hack of getting it on. I assume he used the v8.15 crpoi.dat file instead of the faulty v8.25 version?

Hi Mojo
When one lands up with the Tomtom 2nd line technical department things look bleak indeed. I know, I’ve been there. I think our only chance lies with this forum. I have gone carefully through your \error data and it is exactly the same as mine. So we both have the same problem.
By the way gduvl my crpoi.dat = 47,164,022 and is the same as yours. However, I see no mention of it being corrupt. _________________ Tomtom Go 720.

I'm pretty sure you do but can you check anyway: In Add Programs in Control Panel, do you have dot net Framework installed? If not, you can get it here.
I've seen more than one user not having it installed and Home just crashed. _________________ David

Yes I do have .net framework installed.
Damn! However, I have to go now but will resume in my quest for a solution later tonight. _________________ Tomtom Go 720.

Trevor have you opened W&CE and instead of extracting run test? It's when test is run that it shows crpoi.dat as corrupt. |

I might call them tomorrow and see if talking to them is of any help. However I don't hold out much hope. I just want to confirm on this forum if anyone has downloaded and installed W&CE v825 maps yet? So far we have three people saying it's failed and no one saying it downloaded and installed successfully (short of fudging it) or are TT admitting there is a problem with the W&CE v825 maps from their reply above? _________________ TTG 720

Hi gduvl
Yes, you are quite correct about the crpoi.dat it is corrupt. I tested all the other files and they appear to be ok. So, I have read your ‘work around’, does it work ok?
The bit that puzzles me is by deleting the dat file (size 47,164,022) I cant see how it can work. Can you explain please.
Mojo, if you do manage to ring Tomtom can you let us know the result please? At the moment we both appear to be stuck. _________________ Tomtom Go 720.
