JTrek.com Set to Dominate Smartphone Personal Security Market
Law Enforcement, Universities, Parents and Teenagers Download Crime Deterring Application
ROLLING MEADOWS, Ill., Feb. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- JTrek.com has released its much-anticipated personal security Smartphone application.
This innovative technology has opened a new world of mobile security for the millions of Smartphone users. According to Nielsen Mobile research, there are more than 200 million mobile users in the U.S. More than 100 million of these subscribers use GPS and video-capable Smartphones. The JTrek application leverages the video, audio, location and camera features to record and distribute life-saving information in the case of an emergency.
According to the U.S. Department of Justice, more than 2,000 child abductions happen each day. Although many are family related abductions, when they are unlawful, they should be stopped. Every hour, 16 women confront a rapist, and one of these women is raped every six minutes, many on college campuses.
"The time is long overdue for the cell phone users to carry with them real, tangible evidence gathering technology," states James D. Richie, CEO of JTrek.com. "The global wireless market has experienced an explosion of technological advances and Smartphones finally have allowed personal security to catch up. Mobile users will never view their phone the same again."
When activated, the JTrek user is able to send real-time streaming video, audio, and location data to a pre-configured online user account. This information can be sent real-time to a list of emergency contacts including family, friends, neighbors and law enforcement. In the case of an emergency, the user is immediately connected to his or her world of relationships, bringing help near, and possibly saving precious law enforcement reaction time.
Launched in January, JTrek.com is already experiencing the buzz that a great Smartphone application garners.
"Ironically, our biggest impact may be on the criminals," Richie said. "Soon they will learn every cell phone user may no longer be a victim, because they may be a JTrek user."
