Hi,
I'm planning a trip to Hamburg (Germany!) from London and am wondering if I need just TT3 or do I also need to purchase the European maps (http://www.totalpda.co.uk/TomTom-Navigator-3-European-Maps.aspx)?
I want to get to a specific street in Hamburg. Therefore, I don't think the standard TT3's 'major European road support' provided in the standard version will be sufficient. Am I right?
Finally, if I buy both packages, can I assume that TT3 will be able to guide me in one trip without having to mess around with switching map data etc.? I have a 256Mb SD card so am hoping the trip data can be stored in there.
Thank you.

I still only have TT2 and am waiting upgrade, but it is my undrstanding that u will be able to get there using Major routes, but once there you would need to switch maps to get the detailed info. |

This may sound s silly question - but would TT3 actually tell you to switch maps or would it just show you the route up to a highway and then stop guiding once it ran out of detail?
Thanks,

I do not have tt3 yet but major roads of europe will take from major city to another major city in a different country , once you are there you have to switch to that coutry's map(Germany in your case)and navigate to the city or street you want. |

Aman
It doesn't tell you to switch maps, the maps just end at the borders so you would just be travelling as if you were on the M6 toll road
I planned my route using the Michelin site and set POIs at the border crossings, giving me something to aim at. With TT3 I assume I will not need to do this now, just use major routes.

Well, I placed an order for TT3 and the Maps software and am planning to head out next week. So, let's see what happens!
If I don't ever post again, you know that I've fallen off the edge of the map...
