|
|
I just recently bought a 520 after the sad demise of my trusted GO700. After connecting it to Home, the microphone icon which appears on the navigation screen has disappeared before I had chance to use it.
Could someone please advise how I gat it back onto the screen and how to use it.
Thanks in anticipation

Home has a tendency to lose things like thet....
You can't use the voice input while it is connected to Home, so they need to make it look different in the on-screen emulator, but sometimes the changes seem to stick.
Try the Change Preferences / Quickmenu preferences and tick "Navigate to spoken address
...Although on my 720 that gives me a "tapping screen and lip" icon rather then the microphone icon which I do have on my 940 (so it could be a software difference).
Also, can you get to the speech recognition through the normal Navigate to.../Address/Spoken Address (dialogue) route?
If not, you may need to do a return to factory settings to get it back. This happened to me once, but only after I'd tried to copy across an incompatible "MapSettings.cfg" file to get my old favourites back. |

The above worked with the same outcome as your 720 but I can live with that.
Many thanks

*You* might be happy now, but now I want to know how you had the microphone icon in the first place! ![Laughing](modules/Forums/images/smiles/icon_lol.gif) |

Geoff, what's the firmware on your 520? (tap the satellite bars to see the version number).
Just curious.............. _________________ David |
