hi guys i have a new TT Go 530, the problem is i get the below error in tomtom home when i try to upload my mapshare changes
Unable to connect to tomtom map share server (url unknown)
any ideas ? |

When Home starts, are you signed in? Can you access any of the other services, like Add Maps or Voices?
I've just connected my 520 and although there are no MapShare updates available, there do not appear to be any problems with the servers right now.

Not sure if this will be relevant, but assuming you are on an ordinary domestic broadband connection, check in Home's Tools menu / TT Home Preferences / 'Connection' tab. It should have "Direct connection to the Internet" selected.
And is this happening when you try to download MapShare corrections (from them to you)?
Or is it only after it has done that, and it is then trying to do the upload of changes you've made yourself (from you to them)? |

I have the same problem since my new 730 got here, it says there are updates but when I click "update and install I get the error unknown url box.
Edit:
The latest map guarantee is playing up as well. _________________ TTGO730

Well, I stand corrected, MapShare has failed for me this evening. The error report shows:
ERROR: Exception: Unable to connect to the TomTom Map Share server (URL unknown)
Stack:
0. chrome://tthome/content/ui/subtask/update/update.js:833errorCallback(newException(this._stringBundle.GetStringFromName("mapUploadServerNotFound")));

When I connected via Home, the Update started automatically and appeared to connect to the server only to report that there were no updates available. The above error appeared alsoinstantly after agreeing to upload my own MapShare changes.
I was logged in inside Home.

I did not get a mapshare update last night even though I had not connected to home for several days. Recently mapshare updates have been released on a daily basis. It looks like there is a problem at the server end. _________________ Paul |

This response from TomTom Support came in at around 11:00 this morning -
Dear Mr L,
Thank you for contacting TomTom Customer Support about Map Share™.
We have temporarily disabled Map Share as we are carrying out maintenance on our servers. TomTom will reactivate Map Share when the situation is resolved.
We are working as hard as we can to reactivate Map Share as soon as possible. Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience caused.

I've just connected via Home and downloaded MapShare corrections, but uploading my correction failed with a similar error to the one I had yesterday. Seems as if they don't actually know what's going on.
As I've only deleted a roundabout and replaced it with a set of traffic lights, I guess it's not that important. It looks as if the servers are back on line in both directions now. I've just connected again and my update went through to TomTom.
