Backed everything up, installed it and the only difference that I noticed is a few different icons such as traffic.
On Page 3 of the main menu is a different TomTom trafic icon that takes you straight to the blue screen telling you that you could have clicked on the traffic sidebar.
Likewise the volume preference icon under settings takes you to another irritating blue screen telling you that you could have clicked the bottom left of the screen. It seems neither of these irritating tips will go away.
Accessing the TT Traffic by remote still takes you back to the main navigation screen.
I don't know what the active dock options are as I have not got one but I thought it was supported previously.
The New Operate my Go file is already available which is better than last time but the Live Services still do not work in this mode.
The turn off "security" splash screen has different pictures. _________________ Drivelux |

I'm now looking at the 540 Live as my next purchase so had a quick glance. Anyone know what an

is? I know there is an Active Dock but Active RDS-TMC Dock? Or is this a typo and should be Active Dock & RDS-TMC? |

Ah yes, we wondered who would spot that first. Looks like TomTom have let a cat out of the bag there, can't say much more but it is what it says (when it is released, it isn't yet!). _________________ Darren Griffin |

I find it increasingly frustrating that when I do a voice command to give me the latest traffic info, I have to end up touching the screen anyway to accept the 'tip' I could have just clicked the side bar to get to traffic; completely removing any value added by doing a voice command to begin with. Hope they fixed this! |

Turning off tips didn't remove that stupid reminder in the first release. I too hope it is fixed. |

I am not sure if some traffic voice commands have gone. If you say "read traffic info" or similar it now does one of two things. If you have no route planned it takes you to the traffic menu. If you have a route planned it reads alound the incidents on route.
The tip still appears if you try to access traffic through the menu.
The remote control still does not bring up the traffic menu. _________________ Drivelux |

They have. Just tested it and it now immediately plays the "retrieving traffic information, one moment please" message then reads the info aloud. The tip is not displayed. Now they just need to fix the two other tip messages MrT mentioned.
Also, I'm not sure if it's just me, but I think it's reading out the information at a slightly slower pace which helps enhance the clarity.

I noticed a difference with the voice but cannot say what it is, it seems calmer. Maybe it is my imagination. _________________ Drivelux |

The new application installed my phonebook differently with my blackberry 8310. The old application failed to download all the numbers from the phone for some reason but the ones it did it showed name and number. I tried reloading the phonebook this morning and all it is showing now is numbers!! I know you can edit the txt file but this takes ages!
But everything else is running well including tomtom camera which do seem to be updating. The new 50MPH cameras on the M4 J16 were on my tomtom within a couple of days of going up :-) |

Hi Phil,
No good- my GO940 has Tips turned off yet both of these irritating mesages still appear every time- even with the new firmware. Also they don't get the hint after a few shows and go away like some of the other "helpful messages".
If I want to access the Traffic menu or the Volume controls via the remote (the only sensible way while driving) then I really don't want to be told off like a naughty child every time I do so. Are you listening TomTom? I thought not, but that's nothing unusual... _________________ Device: GO 600, Live connected via iPhone 5.

Put in a ticket for these - I've been told its a feature that will only be removed if enough people request it |
