I picked up an S50 3D yesterday to replace my old INC520. I drive a Citroen Picasso which has a heat reflective windscreen. The windscreen caused no end of issues with the 520 so I bought the external antenna and all was fine. Now I have the S50 3D I am confused as there is not antenna socket. What is more interesting is the sat nav picked up the GPS signal almost immediately.
Are navman using a new GPS chip which is better at picking up the signals, or a new internal amplifier, or am I just lucky? More importantly, if I do get issues, where the hell do I plug the antenna into? |

Is it not under the rubber cover on the left hand side (top connector) or have they changed it on 3D models? |

There is not rubber flap on the S50 3D. As such there is no antenna socket or headphone socket. |

If I haven't mixed up S50 3D with another similar Navman's unit, I seem to remember that S50 and S50 3D look similar but are in fact quite different. S50 does have "the rubber cover on the left hand side" but S50 3D does not, power button replaced with power switch, position of SD card slot now on top etc. |
