All three versions contain exactly the same cameras, except in a different format.
Single file is one file containing all the known cameras (including known mobile locations)
Consolidated is four files so that you can tell the difference between fixed cameras, red light cameras, SPECS cameras and mobile cameras.
Speed zoned contains about 28 (?) files so that you know the speed limit applicable for each camera as well as the type of camera. |

The main thing to realise is that all three versions of the database have ALL the cameras... they are just divided up differently.
At the bottom of the download page it says:
What camera database categories do I need?
Which one you choose/prefer is down to personal choice and the limitations of your SatNav package. There are 3 levels of options, we recommend Consolidated or Speed Zoned for the optimum user experience.
Single File: Contains all the speed cameras in a single file irrespective of type. This category contains all of the above categories, except for the Continental one. It is for UK users who have SatNav systems that can only use a limited number of POI categories:
Consolidated by Type: Contains one file for each type of speed camera.
This is just the main categories and none of the subcategories that show speed limits:
Speed Zoned: Contains the speed cameras in individual files for each speed limit and each camera type.
So it's entirely up to you which you choose, but only choose ONE of them or you will get multiple alerts for the same camera.
Speed-zoned is the best if you want to know (and be told) what the speed limit should be, but as this involves a lot more category files, it takes the longest to set up the first time. Once you've done it though, the next time you update it's just a matter of dropping the new data files on top of the old ones, you can leave all the set-up alone. |

Each download of the database contains ALL the cameras.
The database is released on a weekly basis, so when you want an updated version, you just download and overwrite the existing files. |
