I use the TomTom 3 in the car and on the motorbike.

On the motorbike this is done purely via voice prompts. However, if the signal is lost, or the bluetooth connection fails for any reason, you are not notified. In short you could keep riding for miles and miles not knowing its lost its connection.

Is there an add-on that any one is aware of, that could say say if connection lost, or even one that repeats every set time period, saying all is well etc ?

No, TomTom never had this functionality ("Fix acquired" "Fix lost"). Other programs have that, but many of those make it a non-configurable nuisance forcing you to delete the WAV files again so you end up in the same situation...

If you move the right hand slider to the right in the second tab of the GPS application, you get a low pitched beep when GPS lock is lost, and a higher pitched chirp when GPS lock is re-established.

However, I'm not going to guarantee that this will work in the event of Bluetooth failure - particularly if the failure has crashed the Pocket PC.

Interesting - I never had these sounds. Probably because I hate menu tap sounds and have the "Events (warnings, system events)" sound permanently disabled.
