|
|
I'm a total GPS novice, thinking about buying a Satmap 10 mainly for hill-walking & cycling in the UK. I already own an extensive selection of Memory Map software, so I really don't want to have to buy the OS mapping cards all over again. So, forgive me if this is a dumb question, but can I simply export my MM maps to a suitable SD card, then use them with the Satmap? I see from other threads that I can export individual routes - does this mean that when I import them onto the GPS, I'll see the route complete with the associated OS mapping?
Many thanks in advance! |

Unfortunately the Satmap will only work using their own mapping cards. When you import a route all you will get is the route that can then be superimposed onto the satmap mapping. This has been a subject of much discussion on this forum. |

as pointed out above you need to buy the relevant map for the area.
Its a bummer but then OS are a grasping organisation.
What you can do though is send the saved track from the Satmap to memory map to show it in all its glory. |

Another dumb question from a novice. How do you send a route saved on your satmap to memory map software on a pc?? or to google earth for that matter as I read on another thread.
Thanks, sorry if this too basic a question. |

Export as .gpx using the free Satsync software that is available for the Active10 from the Satmap website, then Import to Memory-Map or LiveMap or TheHug, WhereisthePath, etc.... |
