|
|
Hi all! I am a newbie so apologies if this has been done..
I just wondered... we got my OH's satnav (TomTom One XL GB) a year or so ago, think it has been 11 months since first use (birthday present first used Jan 08). It used to show speed cameras up and make a 'bong bong' noise beforehand, but since I plugged it into PC to put some voices on or something za few weeks ago, the cameras still showed but no noise. Even going in the settings didn't seem to work. Anyway he left it at that but I tried again the other day to see how we coudl reset the bongbong noise, and after having it plugged in to laptop again using the TomTom software supplied, the cameras have gone altogther! WE have tried resetting to factory settings but that hasn't worked. Anyone any idea how to get them back?
Thanks in advance :-) |

Hi and If you mean the PGPSW cameras, try HERE
If you mean the inferior TomTom ones then someone else may be able to help you. _________________ TT Go Essential |

Surprised it has taken so long for someone to reply... sorry!
How easy it will be to get them back depends on one thing.... did you ever make a backup of the TomTom's contents to your PC?
The best way to make a backup is to copy everything with Windows Explorer and paste it somewhere safe, but for this purpose oa backup made with TomTom's own "Home" software would do just as well.
If you HAVE got a backup, report back, and I can tell you the names of the files you need to copy into the ONE's "western Europe" or "Great Britain" folder.
If you haven't, you will either have to subscribe to TomTom's camera service (which costs about £19 a year) or a much better bet would be to subscribe to the one from this site, which is cheaper and generally considered to be much better (click on the camera sign on this page for more details).
If you were still using the data from a year ago, you REALLY need to think about a new version anyway, it would be so out of date as to be worse than useless! |
