|
|
Hi
Can anyone tell me why there are missing poi,s on my Garmin Nuvi compared to my TT Mobile.
For instance, TT shows 2 mobile units at junct 14 M56 whereas Garmin has none !
Both Db,s are up to date.
Thanks

Graham, I assume you have got the exact same release of data on both devices?
As the Speed Camera downloads originate from the same master copy they must contain the same data and locations.
1/ Different release on each device (easy with updates every week or so)
2/ Garmin will only warn if above the speed of the camera?
3/ If the camera locations were on an ajacent road then one might warn where the other system will not depending upon how the software picks up the POI locations for warnings - the TomTom is notably poor at picking off cameras located on adjacent roads even with "Warn only if POI On Route" is selected - Mike |

hi graham.
the latest tomtom download you made was 6.122 (10th december) whereas the latest garmin download is 6.124 (24th december)
did you convert the garmin download to tomtom format? ie is your tomtom really up to date?!
also, i see you download the europe files too for the garmin - are you familiar with installing both the uk and europe files together as if not then you may have inadvertatly removed the uk files when adding the europe files

Thank you both for your prompt replies.
Mike, This has been a problem for a while, as the particular sites I mentioned have been there for some time. I have always found the TT to be more reliable than the Garmin but that does not explain the "missing"
camera location on it.
MaFt, I take your point about the UK and Europe downloads and indeed it may well be part of the problem.
As a point of interest my Garmin shows other local poi,s (ie Gatso's etc) but I have found on the M56 for example that the alarm on one Gatso goes off on the Gatso itself (no prior warning) but the TT gives plenty of warning. Very strange.
I shall clear the Garmin poi's and reload just the UK to see what happens.
Thanks again

Problem solved !
It appears that I did not remove all of my old poi's on the TT Mobile (Nokia N95) and the poi's in question have since been removed from the D base.
Thanks again,
Graham |
