|
|
I brought a new TT 920 this week of ebay still in plastic cover ( not opened ).
I deleted some folders by mistake and I have lost the Speech Recognition Files from my maps folder, I spoke with tomtom and as I have not got the original receipt they cannot send me the file to make Speech recognition: voice address work again.
Can anyone send me this file, all I know from tomtom that it should be in this section of the map folder and believe it is like cspeech, I have the following files: cline, cnode, cphoneme, crpoi all Dat files.
Many thanks if you can help or I will have to buy a new set of maps.

This only goes to stress the message we often put out on the forum about making backups of the device, I will e-mail you a link later when I find where the files are.
Your map folder should look something like this:
Note the missing files are quite substantial in size circa 230MB for the full set - Mike |

Many thanks Mike,
I did back it up before I deleted the USA maps, but today when the tomtom rep asked me to go to my backup after we had looked at the files in explorer
they were not there, thats why I remembered him saying that the cspeech files were missing, I have not got a clue where they have gone, or why.
Regards

No problem, use the link(s) I sent you to download the files, put them in the map folder and see what the device does, start with the GBR file as they are country specific, if all you need is UK then just put that on the device but for completeness of your file set download the whole lot and keep them safe - Mike |

I thought if you bought a device in Europe you only got the voice recognition files for the Europe map, and similarly, if you bought the device in the US you only got them for the US map.........so you haven't "lost" them at all!
My "day one backup of a 940 doesn't have any cspeech files in the US map folder. |

There is insufficient storage space for everything on the device so they were left out to make space for the other data - Mike |

Quite right...
I was just putting Mike1's mind at rest that he hadn't done anything to "lose" them. |
