Hi everyone, just a little confused about the free speed cameras I get with the new tomtom v4. I have a lifetime subscription to the pocketgps camera database. Is the one which comes as standard as good and do I get free updates through tomtom home?
Or should I go back to what I know and install the pocketgps database with the bespoke voice alerts etc?
Sorry but couldn't find the answers to this anywhere by searching.
Thanks |

I would stick with what you know works, by all means try the TomTom Safety Cameras out and when you have made up your mind that they are substandard when compared to the offering from this site you will know what to do, there are even forum pages detailing how to remove/ disable the TomTom cameras.
But why not run both databases for a week on the same device and make up your mind? - Mike |

Central , this situation is a no brainer.
Bin the Tomtom camera database and use the PGPSW speed camera database instead.
You say that you already have lifetime subscription to the PGPSW database.
Download it , put it on your Tomtom and it will do the job........end of !!!!
As long as you keep updating as they are released you will have no worries. _________________ Keith

No its not and it isn't free either. Yo have a 'trial' which will expire unless you subscribe to Tomtom PLUS Services. No mobiles, very poor data, little or no verification and an entirely closed system with no support or feedback.

Not just 'what you know' but a far better service, don't take my word for it though, load ours and compare for yourself! _________________ Darren Griffin |

Our install guide can be found here.
As a Lifetime subscriber I have updated your rank to reflect that status. _________________ Darren Griffin |
