|
|
Hi, I've just purchased a tt 730 and applied all the latest updates.
My problem is with the volume level of hands free calls. (Navigation instruction is fine at around 75%) But even with hands free volume set at 100% its still low and muffled - basically the car has to be stationary to hear anything which sort of defeats the object of using the handsfree. Callers can hear me quite clearly, but i can't hear them.
Is there a way that the volume can be boosted maybe via tomtom home or something?
Also just as i upgrade from my tt one v3 specifically for the handsfree facility, the FM transmitter is removed which would of solved the problem!

the FM transmitter would not have resolved the problem because it wouldn't transmit handsfree phone to FM!!
The solution to your volume is to set the volume whilst in a phone call. You could do it at home by phoning your mobile from the landline, not answering but simply going to the volume change on the TomTom and sliding it along (but not via TT Home).
Easy when you know how. I forgot all about it and have been wondering how the heck to get volume on phone calls with my HTC Advantage. In desperation I glanced at the manual and found you have to change the volume slider during a phone call. _________________ Dennis

Dennis, thanks for that mate. was driving me nuts as well.
Knew I had done it before but couldn't remember how.

Strangely though, the volume and clarity of handsfree calls always remains well away from the internal voices! |

I had already increased the volume to 100% whilst during calls, but to me it still doesn't seem to go any louder - any other suggestions? |

My 530 also has a very low volume on Handsfree at 100%. The Go940 is louder but nothing compared to the car handsfree kit. |

Have you tried the "secret volume control"? This is the one that can only be accessed during an outgoing call, tap bottom left of the screen and the "secret volume control" will appear. I had exactly the same problem, but when I tried this I discovered that although the main volume was set at 100%, this secret control was on just 65%. Turned it up and hallelujah; brilliant! Loud and clear. |

Is the secret control the phone volume control that has been mentioned several time in this thread or is it a third one that I have not found yet? |

If you know where to tap (usually bottom left) to adjust the volume, you do so during a call. But it's not a secret - you can use the "normal" volume control, by tapping anywhere, then Change Preferences, Volume Preferences. The "secret" tapping is merely a shortcut to the volume control, but it's the same volume control - but like I said right at the start, you do it DURING a phone call _________________ Dennis
