I've just got a 940 (from Dabs) and having the same problem other people have reported. I can't get it to work with live. Is there anything that I need to do to tell the tomtom account that I have a 940 which should have 3 months of free subscription, or does this just get added automatically when the home software detects the 940?

Also, unrelated, what did people do with the 1GB micro-SD card? I had to take mine out to get the device to boot, which seems wrong that they would ship it in?

What Micro SD card, there was not one in mine?

When I first used the device on TTHome is asked if I wanted to register the device to my account which I did.

My device is talking to the server as when I put an incorrect password in it asks me for the correct one but then it just comes back with the Error 2031 Cannot use abroad....

When I started home for the first time, it asked if I wanted to log into a tomtom account (which I did), but I don't recall it asking if I wanted to specifically register the device. Maybe it did and I missed it.

I've just opened the 2nd 940 (we got 2 for a work project) and this one does not have a micro-sd card in it. So I have no idea why the first one had one in, or what it is for, or what may be on it.

Does the Live Services issues happen on both devices?

If you find a way around the issue please post it here.

I've just tried the 2nd unit, new laptop with a fresh install of TomTom Home. I Created a new account and this time it all just worked.Live is working just as expected.

When I get back to the office I'll try the original unit with a new account and see what happens.
