I've just tried this route out as a Demo. I received warnings for all 5 cameras in both directions.
Can I suggest that you do the same to check out your problem again? |

Obvious question - but just in case. Are you referring to Tom Tom's own cameras or the cameras from this site? _________________ Peter

This may be a silly question, but if I want to replicate the route in and out of Dunstable, I have to plot an Itinerary of 3 points. i.e. Hatters Way, The Square (where I turn around to back-track) and then M1 J11. Regrettably 'Start' commences here at h/a. In demo mode the route plots o.k. for the first 60 miles or so until just through Bell Common Tunnel on M25 and then it flicks back to start point and repeats itself.
Now have I missed a trick to force the Itinerary to start from the first waypoint and if so, how do I set it up? |
I just did a very straight forward route (using prepare Route, not Itinerary Planning) from Hatters Way (junc of A505) to Dunstable (city centre). I then planned a second route in reverse. |

That's a common bug.... Most often it happens after connecting to Home and/or using the on-screen emulator in Home. |

Yeah, i can confirm this - I think. Have the latest files from here (not this weeks, but last week) Down the M4 last week to Wales, no warnings on any camera. Did a soft reset of the TT710, return journey as follows. Roadworks on M4 outside Cardiff only had warnings when I was along side the Gatso in the 50mph road works.
7 bridge warned of the 50mph when I was along side the pay booths.
Spec cameras in road works around Slough, warnings when I was in the road works.
All the mobile cameras along the way warned as they should according to the settings.
The ogg files, file names are all correct and I reset the distance warnings.
Have downloaded the camera files 2wice, going to download again, reload the ogg files and reset the distance from scratch to see if it clears the problem.
Have similar problem closer to home, Target roundabout on the A40 at Northolt, 2 mobiles set at 50mph, but no warning on the TT. Seems to be a very erratic problem.
Using a Mac, OSX10.5, TT Home connect via USB.
Not had these problems before, also my updated POIs are not warning either, and have checked file names, ogg file warning distance etc there as well.
Just going to a complete new download of everything and have a clearout. _________________ Triumph Tbird 1700. And now a Bonnie T100. |

It's not a problem with the downloads or the files, just that the TomTom itself has this tendency to forget the warning settings.
One suggestion, is to get things just how you like them and then BEFORE connecting to Home, make a copy of the MapSettings.cfg file and save it somewhere else on the TomTom (i.e. not in the named map folder).
Then if it "forgets" it is a quick and easy matter to just copy the backup file back into the map folder, and all will be restored as it was. |

Cheers Andy,
Thats what I'll be doing this weekend. Not an issue I've had before, but thought something was up when the TT shut down and restarted all on its own and seemed to 'hang' a bit. Because I was driving at the time I had to let it go.
The thing I find strange is that the 70mph mobiles warn as they should, but the 50mph mobiles don't, This despite I have set and checked all the settings. They appear n the map in the right place but the voice warnings don't.
So, like you say, complete clear out and reset, backup the .cfg file.
May be starting to pack up, I don't know.
Shame because it has been reliable and does all that I need. _________________ Triumph Tbird 1700. And now a Bonnie T100. |

I shouldn't worry, I very much doubt there's anything majorly wrong.
This is just a niggle that affects us once in a while. |
