I have a Tomtom 730T. I'm planning to drive across the USA. I understand that the Tomtom will work without a problem in the US (as long as I buy the map!) but that the traffic antenna will not.
Is there an antenna I can buy that will work in the US, or do I need to buy a US version of the 730T at the start of my journey, use it for traffic and sell it at the end of my journey?
Thanks |

You can purchase the USA RDS-TMC receiver as an accessory while you are over there, don't get it in Europe first though as these probably won't work over there, as long as you have the USA map installed and selected it will work on the trip - Mike |

Thanks Mike. I wasn't sure whether I'd need a whole new unit. USA RDS-TMC receiver purchased online from the US and on its way. |

I might be a bit late for the original post but my Garmin TMC worked perfectly well (better than in Britain) in Los Angeles and around.
Didn't work in Chicago (no coverage). |
