From the UK Navman website
"LONDON, 24 September 2008: Following the recent launch of the 3D S-Series range of sat-navs, Navman will be offering customers a free map upgrade during 2009.* The promotion is available for all current S-Series models and is valid on purchases made between 1st October 2008 and 31st January 2009. Registered customers will receive updated maps covering the relevant regions for the device they purchased."
Does this mean only purchases between 01/10/08 and 31/01/09 will get a free upgrade OR any registered customers. I believe the first so its Navman saying "Screw you" to any current customers.
Well done Navman and screw you to.

In the past you could buy a Navman one day, and the next day they released the new range, you were entitled to and got nothing.
Navman have done a noble thing looking after their new customers, and a wise thing anouncing it well ahead of time.
The debate on pricing and availiblity of map updgrades for existing customers has been thrashed out on this site many times. |

Thats one of the reasons Navman has lost so much market share over the past few years, they didn't give their units any kind of lifespan unlike Tomtom. _________________ Samsung Mega

Various reports have appeared about this and I think it is clear that it is only purchases between those two dates plus you have to register. This is an example here

Well, indeed - especially when you consider that the S90i was far more expensive when it was first launched compared to today. Those early customers shelled out a lot more money for it and therefore generated a lot more profit for NavMan. You would think that at the very least they would want to show some loyalty to those "more profitable" customers.
NavMan's refusal to address any of the 'S' range's faults and shortcomings is another aspect of their utter lack of loyalty. It's a very perverse attitude: how can they expect loyalty from customers when NavMan won't reciprocate?
I threw my S90i away a long time ago and, no matter how good their latest range of units may be, while their attitude remains so deplorable, I certainly will not be doing business with NavMan again.

You think the S90 was pricey - checkout the original iCN630 prices and think how little support we got from Navman. No wonder most of us jumped ship to TT or Garmin. |

Even if you not purchased your Navman unit between those dates, you can still claim upgrade as long as you register your unit between those period.
Just make sure you select a proper purchased date - even if that's not your actual purchase date!
You need to provide a valid serial # though and that should not already be registered.
