POI Installation

I have downloaded some POI's and don't know how to get them onto my PDA. I am using TOMTOM Navigator 6 on a HP IPAQ hw6915.

Welcome to the forum, the POI files should comprise of two files per POI Category, the file extensions being ov2 and bmp. the ov2 file contains all the locations within that category and the bmp file is the icon. If the file you have downloaded is zipped up you will have to extract the files from the zip to reveal the ov2 and bmp files.

Copy both the bmp and ov2 file for each POI Category you have got in to your map folder which will be on the storage card. You can have upto 100 Custom POI Categories when using TomTom Naviagtor version 6, if you exceed this the device will decide which ones to show you, so keep it below 100.

If you have Active Sync on the PC you can use that to copy the files from your PC to the PDA, or simply use Windows Explorer to do the same job - Mike
