Had my 730T for a few days now and I have'nt been able to upload / download anything via Map Share yet.
Having read other posts it seems to be something to do with Home 2.4 , but I am prepared to be corrected on that.
Has anybody been on to Tomtom and had a moan ?
Have Tomtom said anything about how long it is going to be down for ?
I'm a bit p#ssed off to tell you the truth.
One of the reasons I got the 730T was for the Map Share facility and I can't bl@@dy use it !!! _________________ Keith

Map Share is down for around a week, this is to allow the roll out of the new maps and new version of TomTom Home software - give it a little time and a normal (if there is such a thing) service will be resumed - Mike |

Just had a first line support trying to help me get Mapshare going on my 520. Emails back and forth, then a pre-arranged phone call from him to help me back on line. After a while on the phone, trying this and that, he contacted second line who told him the servers were down and would not be up until 'around the 10th of October'. He kept his cool about the lack of communication whilst explaining to me that no-one had told him prior to that moment. He had obviously wasted lots of time of his and mine. So lets wait and see. |

TomTom front desk have responded in the same way to my support call and advised:
We have just been notified that our mapshare servers have been undergoing maintenance over the past few days and unfortunately, this has affected all customers who are trying to download mapshare corrections.
We expect that the service will be back up and running by the end of next week.
I have replied asking the agent to:
Perhaps you could pass on to your management that it is a pity your 2nd tier had not had the courtesy or forethought to tell your team that your servers were down and had been for nearly a week. I am sure it would have saved an awful lot of your time and effort, not to mention your ability to placate many, often upset customers.
It is also a pity that I had to learn about this problem from third parties, rather than a small notice placed upon the front page of www.tomtom.com
Probably won't happen, but at least the guy who tried to help me might feel a bit better! _________________ Ric - TomTom 520 DEAD - Passed to the great traffic jam in the sky. Now using Maps & Waze on Samsung Galaxy S4 + CamerAlert of course! |
