The POI files should comprise of two files for each POI

.ov2 which is the actual location data
.bmp which is the icon

These files go in to your map folder which will be stored on the device in the flash memory unless you have added a new map and put that on the memory card?

Also there is a limit to the number of POI categories you can install to the unit before it will start to be selective in which categories it will let you see - I think the figure is 169 when running Navcore 8,300

As a tip it does help if you mention the device you are using when asking questions - not everyone has a crystal ball Wink - Mike

It the number of files with a file extension of .ov2 in the map folder, each ov2 file is a custom POI category which can contain thousands of individual locations.

If you exceed the limit the device will decide which files it will use often making some of the Specs Speed Camera POI files disapear, you need to be selective as to the POI files you want on the device.
I use 'Combine Sub-Cats' for things like fuel and ATM's I am not bothered which fuel station it is when I need fuel, the same applies to cash machines. This can reduce the number of POI categories by quite a few with no real loss of information - Mike

Not necessarily....

The POI files themselves take up very little space (eg the entire speed-zoned camera database of 31 categories only takes up just over half a Megabyte) so unless your categories are uncommonly large, they should fit in the map folder on the internal memory fine.

Once you've chosen the categories you REALLY want/need and combined them where possible as Mike suggests, don't try to show ALL of them on the map ALL the time or you will find the screen refresh slowing down.
