I'm about to move away due to work and thought I should invest in my first gps. A big limiting factor is that I'm a Mac user.
After an exhausting quest for info I have been told that I will be able to run a KANE NAVIGATION LUX BLUETOOTH GPS PALM system without the use of a PC.
I've also seen KANE NAVIGATION and a TUNGSTEN PALM system in DIXONS for £600.
Apparently I wont need a PC to install or run the KANE NAVIGATION and any PALM system is compatible with a Mac.
I would appreciate any comments people have on this system as I really don't have a clue! |

Don't know about the Kane stuff but there is another software that doesn't require a PC - Mapopolis. You can download both the application and the maps from the web. Mapopolis runs on either Palm or Pocket PCs (and on Smartphones, too) - all with the same maps. _________________ Lutz

Cheers for the advise!
Could you tell me if the Mapopolis maps are displayed on a smart phone as good as they are on a Palm?
Out of interest have you any experience with the Kane Navigation PALM kit?
Thanks again. |

I don't speak of experience here since I own neither but I've been told the Mapopolis implementation for Smartphones is "surprisingly useable" _________________ Lutz

Depends on whether you have a Palm but TomTom are doing quick start SD cards but TomTom Navigator for the Palm OS will only run under a Tungsten T3 (not T2 or below). |
