If I download the gpsworld POIs to my nuvi 250 do I duplicate any preloaded POIs ie would my local Tescos which is preloaded appear twice? Does it make any difference if I download them to an SD card or the built in memory? Same question with gpsworld speed camera locations.
Also is the POI information more detailed if I subscribe to pocketgpsworld? |

There may be duplication if both your nüvi and the PocketGPSWorld POI sets both contain the same item. I recommend that you switch off any nüvi POI set if you are using a similar PocketGPSWorld POI sets.
The great advantage that the free PocketGPSWorld POIs have is that they are constantly updated by a great deal of our members, and are thus more up-to-date. In the unlikely event that you find an admission or error then please correct it via the relevant web page and the update will be done and available for all to download.

Sorry, I don’t know as I don’t have a Garmin Nüvi. Hopefully a Garmin Nüvi user will be able to help and advise you.

The free POIs are of the same quality whether you are a registered member or a subscriber. If you are a subscriber then you have additional benefits such as access to the PocketGPSWorld camera database.

as Privateer said, he's not a garmin user... as such he is liable to telling the occasional porkie
unfortunately you cannot 'turn off' the built in pois... the only ones you can 'turn off' are the proximity alerts for the garmin/cyclops database...

As I've already said, I'm not a Garmin Nüvi user.
However I did have a very quick look at the on-line Garmin manuals for the Nüvi 250, please have a look here, but I couldn't find anything of use. You could have a more in-depth investigation of the on-line Garmin Manuals.
Alternatively another Garmin Nüvi 250 user may be able to advise.

Is that the thanks that I get for spending half an hour trying to help somebody who needs assistance?

Thanks MaFt!
Sorry joroma, I stand corrected by an experienced Garmin user such as MaFt.
Mind you, if you had bought a TomTom ...
