|
|
When I install TomTom 2 on ipaq 3630 with 256 cf card should I
1. Directly dowload the 2.24(or the newest) version from TomTom's site, and install it? Do I have to find somewhere the older updates, or just go with the newest.
2. In what order should I do the installation and the configurations. (I have a Wired GPS)
3. About the Poi's. If I have .rar ended files, how can I convert them to be used with TomTom 2? I've already downloaded the POI edit program, and found there a convert feature, but not for .rar files.
4. Later when I'll get TomTom 3 upgrade, should I take somekind of a backup of TomTom2, or just install TomTom 3? Will I loose some data?
5. When I upgrade to TomTom 3, what would be the correct order to make that installation?
Maybe I would have find the answears somewhere in this in this forum, but it would be good for me to get all of this in one place.
Thank's

1. Directly download 2.24 - not the newest (which is 3.01)
2. TomTom 2.24, then TomTom GPS 2.07, then the voice file
3. Get yourself WINRAR - .rar files are like .zip files
4. backup is not required but certainly doesn't hurt
5. The installer does everything for you. _________________ Lutz

Hi Roy,
Sorry I can't answer all of your questions, but I do know the answer to number 3.
.rar files are archive files and to convert them to POI files which are recognisable by TTN2, you need a program called WinRAR. I downloaded it as a free trial version, which you can do here.

Before I start to do anything, where do I find the TomTom GPS 2.07 and the voice file?

GPS 2.07 is in our downloads area, the voice files are on your CDs as well as in a few places on the web. Google for "TomTom Voice Files" _________________ Lutz
