Ok here we go, i have a copy of City Navigator 2008 "unlocked" so i would have thought that you should be able to download routes from it on the pc like you can with the street pilots and them save the routes to your external sd card (the one that fits in the side of the nuvi) i have the Nuvi 860T ..when i try to do this the software on the pc (Mapsoure) tells me that the download to the micro sd card was completely succesfull but when i come to check it on the Nuvi there aint nowt on it..anyone tried this !! as i would have thought it should have worked but wrong !! it don't has, anyone else tried this as i would have thought it should work.thanks 4 any replies from the geneuses would be apreciated. Also when a sd card is installed in the nuvi i would have thought it would have shown up as a sd card icon but it dont. so how can you tell whats on it without connecting to your pc!!!!!. _________________ Apple iphone 3G

On the 7xx series once you send a route with MapSource you have to to goto Tools, My Data and then Import Route from File. Then the Route appears under Where To?, Routes..... Not sure if that applies to the 8xx series...
Deleting the routes off the unit is a pain and involves deleting files from the unit....

See this thread | Many thanks for that info Paul i will give it another go,Surely though if you import from the sd card it will eventualy try to overload the nuvi's main memory,,,,,i remain a tenyweeny bit confused _________________ Apple iphone 3G

You're not the only one. MapSource loads them into a file on the Nuvi and then you have to import them again into the Routes section of the Nuvi. Go figure!!
It does mean you can store say 25 routes on the unit but only have the 3 you need for this trip loaded into the Routes section....... |
