The change from £2 per month to £19 per year was as a result of piracy and the step has had a significant effect in stopping people sharing the database on the tor_rent sites and selling it on E-bay.
The actions of a few spoiled things for the majority, but action had to be taken.
Some of the key PGPSW staff are travelling back from Berlin having been reporting from a major trade show, I am sure if you have e-mailed one of the team then they will get back to you once they return to the UK - Mike |

hi
thats fair enough
but i cant be the only one who will not pay the £19
so they must be losing somewhere
its not a problem i have found a site that can supply me what i want ok its £5.95 a month
but i only update my tomtom twice a year so when you do the maths its cheaper
this site was great when i could get a download for £2
you say it was to stop people reselling i really cant see how that would work as the would pay the £19 and just sell more
its more like they wanted a bigger income thats how i see it
thanks |

Sadly piracy was a big issue for us and so it was dropped. Good luck with that site, the data is at the end of the day the key factor and you are of course free to choose where to spend your money.
Do they offer free lifetime subs for qualifying reports? A forum where you can discuss issues with the database, suggestions etc? No. _________________ Darren Griffin |

To be honest the support and advice you receive from members and management on this site is worth the £19 alone .
I have compared this sites speed camera data base and to honest it just blows every other database out of the water !!!
And regarding cost 4 downloads @ £5-95 = £23-80 a year
12 downloads of the pocketgps = £19 a year
I wish you luck with your purchase but if it is not as accurate as this one it could cost you a lot more !! |

this part seems to have been missed!!
there is a contact pgpsw on the left hand side of every page (under gps central) as well as a contact/help section in the top menu bar.

In the first reply Mike also says:

hi
when i said (plus why is it so hard to contact some one from pocket gps)
when you click on contact/help
it gives you long winded way to answer in forum
why not a simple contact email
and please let me know if the site starts doing the £2 single download
thanks |

Eh???
If you follow the "Contact us" link, the very first thing it says is:
Quote: | IMPORTANT: Your question or comment will be more efficiently responded to in the forums, after all, that is what they are there for! |
But immediately after that is a list of the main PocketGPSWorld team members, complete with their email addresses if you REALLY want to contact one of them individually.
What is wrong with the forum? |

Hi Leonardeaster,
If you look at the current download page it says:
This Bank Holiday special release sees 136 static and mobile speed cameras added/modified across the various speed camera databases by 43 users. It has been less than 2 weeks since the last release but there have been a lot of new Gatsos installed ....
Now, if there are 136 camera changes in less than 2 weeks, just think how many changes there are between your twice-a-year updates. Those are camera alerts that you are missing!
If you want to avoid being caught then you need a camera database that is always as accurate and up to date as possible, so that you can trust it.
If on the other hand it's not really that important to you, why bother with a camera database at all? You might just as well save your twice-a-year fees. That would be the best value for money of all.

You posted your question in the forum at 7:44 on a Sunday evening, and it was answered by a moderator within 27 minutes. You subsequently had a reply from one of the PGPSW team at 9:51 on Monday morning.
How long do you think you would have waited for a reply from most sites that give "a simple contact email"? Your email wouldn't even have been read before 9:00 on Monday morning. _________________ Anita
