HI everyone
I have been watching this forum with interest and have just taken delivery of a shiny new A10. How do I get rid of the 5Km or so red trail on startup? I know the solution has been posted here, but I can't find it now! |

Welcome to the forum, press the lower right button until you get to the "Trip Log" page, press the "Reset" button and select "Reset Trail" to clear the rubbish from the screen - Mike |

I don't know much about Satmaps, but this might be what you're looking for. _________________ Richard

Thanks Mikealder.
I knew it was simple but couldn't remember what to do. |

When you do this make sure you then start the trip log to record your walk, I have forgotten this on a couple of occasions, only to find out much later on that I have no data - Mike |

The rechargeable battery pack shows the charging icon forever.....
When I initially received the A10 I fitted the rechargeable battery and plugged in the charger. The unit did a few power ups and offs and ons and then settled down with the charging icon on. I left it for 2~3 hours and then took the A10 home, where I put it on charge overnight, with the screen off but the unit on. Pressed the map button at 0630 this morning and the GPS map came up instantly with a good satellite lock but the charging icon was still showing. I turned off the charger, removed the plug, switched off the A10. Then plugged the cable in again and fired up the mains. Swithched on the A10 some 4 hours later and the thing was still charging!
Any ideas please? |

Actually, I don't think that the icon 'turns off' after charging...well mine doesn't...strange but true ! |

I think of the icon as more of an indication the device is coupled to an external power source rather than a charge status. If its been on charge overnight you can be sure it will be at 100% - Mike |

I've had it confirmed from Satmap that leaving it "permanently" plugged in won't harm anything, as it's an "intelligent" charger, so I just leave mine plugged in every night as a matter of routine. So long as I've got four blocks of battery condition when I set off I'm happy. Currently, I'm getting about 11 to 12 hours of life from my Li-pol cell, in PowerSave mode, with the screen always on and at 80% brightness. |
