I read on another forum that thereis little difference in these and that you can update the 520 with lane guidance and other features on the 530 is this correct.
If you can is it easy to do? |

Welcome to the forum, to alter an x20 unit to the same working model and functionality of an x30 requires the version 8 software to be installed and a version 8 map.
Here is a slight problem, the version 8 software appears to have been withdrawn earlier today (unconfirmed, but from a reliable source) and you can no longer purchase version 8 maps for an x20 unit - at some point in the future this will be resolved, but asking when these requirements will be made available is a guessing game, only TomTom Know, and I suspect even they are unsure! - Mike |

Thought that might have been to good to be true.
But if i had to buy the new v8 map I would not really be saving that much
never had a satnav before am planning to go to france and Usa ina few years but will wait to get these maps nearer the time.
Is there any thing else i should concider before spending over £200 are the only advantages of the 730 and 930 over the 530 |

The cost of the extra maps when purchased separately is an expensive way of going about purchasing a Nav Unit.
530 = UK maps
730 = Western Europe maps
930 = Western and Central Europe + North American maps, you also get the remote control and RDS-TMC receiver thrown in.
Not an easy choice to make, but it will depend upon your budget and needs for the maps/ add ons - Mike |
