Hi Everyone,
I already have a Go 910 from new which has been a wonderfull unit.
I am now wanting a second unit for the wife / second car.
I am thinking of a Go 720 and have seen some really good deals offering refurbished / recertified units from reputable dealers such as Compusa and Newegg.
They all advertise these as having a full years manufacturers warranty and also imply these are better than new as they have been through extra testing before been offered for resale.
Has anyone purchased one of these and can you offer any reasons good or bad to get one this way?
Thanks in advance for any help |

I just got my Go 720 from Staples for $249.00 then I used a $25 off coupon which brought it down to $225.00 and the unit looks and works perfect as if brand new. You would not be able to tell the difference between the new and refurbished. It even has the original screen protector on it. |

Thanks for that.
Did you get the unit from your local store or order online?
Also if you don't mind, how did you manage to get the $25 coupon?
Regards,

I don't have experience of refurbished GPS, but I do have experience of refurbished computers.
What you've heard is probably correct because quite often parts are replaced which weren't actually faulty and they undergo additional testing before they're released.
As a result, you possibly get a unit which has been thoroughly tested and is therefore perhaps more stable than a unit straight off the production line and you still get a 1 year warranty.
The question might be how much cheaper the unit might be and whether that lower price is considered worthwhile from a purchase point of view _________________ Andy

Thanks, you kind of confirmed what i had heard and as for the saving.
New $349.95 against $239.99 for recertified.
Thats a big difference!
And i checked with TT that they do still have 1 years warranty.
Looks like i'm buying a go 720 recertified, i'll post my findings. |

I ordered online at Staples and it came in the next day. And it came with a 1 year warranty direct from TomTom.
You can find Staples coupon codes all over the interent. You just enter in the code at checkout for the discount. Just google coupon codes. |

Decided on Newegg.com as i have used them before.
$239.99 + $6.99 shipping.
Thats a huge saving on new, i hope i don't live to regret it
I tried to find a Staples coupon, but everything on the net was out of date or couldn't be used. Still thanks for the info. |

For those in the UK, I purchased a Tomtom one V3 (refurbished model) from Morgan Computers (www.morgancomputers.co.uk) for 82.00 (RRP of £120) giving a reasonable saving. The unit looks like new and performs well - you can collect in person if you have a shop nearby - there are only about 6 or so in the UK or they do mail order. They are also a good source of other end of line / refurbished / returned stock for other items as well. |

Mine came with v710 map and yes you can use the latest free map guarantee within 30 days of first use.
I'm holding out till the end of my 30 days hoping they release version 8 with ALG and IQ Routes in August. |

Hi Everyone,
So my recertified GO 720 arrived this morning.
Out of the box it looks perfect, no marks scratches anything. Powered up and found signal straight away.
Had App 7.221 with map v710.1584 North American.
As per all recomendations made full copy to my HD.
Then connected to Home and it updated to App 7.481 so then made another backup. Then updated to App to 8.010
So now App 8.010 with map v710.1584
So far so good.
Suave or anyone,
How do i know if i have the 30 day guarantee, i don't see anything in the box?
Do i have to register with TT to find out???
Any help please? |

PS.
OK i found the LMG and code number
Do you think i should hold on until nearer the end of the 30 days to see if new maps come out.
What happens when you try the "use LMG" do you have to input the code?
If you do and then find out you are up to date is the code then invalid?
Sorry for all the questions, i would appreciate any guidances.
Additionally used the 720 all day today for deliveries, its excellent, no issues yet.
Also the VR works with out me having to do any mods, is this a bonus or should it work on the 720? |
