Hi all,
Starting to settle in with the 520 now, bought myself an Arkon dash mount and it arrived today, so that`s now installed. Voice files and speedcams seem to be working ok.
I have found though that the screen is quite difficult to see in sunshine / glare and there is no way to adjust brightness/contrast.
Can anyone suggest a decent map colour, day / night that they think is the best for all situations. I always liked the miomap colours, is there anything like that available. open to any suggestions, advice.
Also the "Help" files, when I had a look in there , there was a lot of stuff no where near my area, anyway of updating those or is it not worth it?
Thanks all, _________________ ***************************************

Screen is not the best for glare....
Best solution is a shade or move it!
I've found mine much improved with my new custom mount which brings it almost a foot nearer me and away from the windscreen (unless the sunroof is open!)
My favourite map colours are "GB_New", and I don't use the night colours, just have it set to reduce the brightness.
It's available for download from the Colour Scheme Editor website (a good program to play with too!)
http://www.colorschemeeditor.com/index.php?lang=EN
Help files can be updated with Doctor/Dentist/Pharmacy/Police POIs for the UK from TomTom.
Same webpage as for the guides themselves if they are missing:

Guides at the top, POIs at the bottom. |

Thanks for the reply, I found the link for the poi`s in the stickies and looked them up, I take it I just download whatever I need from the list?
Map colours I saw on the TTsite and also looked up your link , looks like there is a few in there I can check out.
Where did you reduce the brightness? is this facility available on the 520?
Thanks again.. _________________ ***************************************

hello Anita Thank you for that , to be honest I have been so busy I haven`t had a proper read of the manual as yet, it was a lot easier when you got it in book form

Wasn't it just! I hate on screen manuals too.

Unless the manuals have got a lot better recently, I would just sit down with a glass of something nice and go through all the menu pages, ferreting down through as many sub-menus as you can find and seeing what's there. |
