after updating using home my tomtom will not start up, i have tried reseting but to no avail. i have an original backup but how do i go about getting it on the device? |

I would try deleting the loose files in the root directory of the TomTom device then connecting to Home to update it once again, as this should recover the situation - otherwise:
Connect the device to the PC and format the storage media on the TomTom using Windows Explorer then copy the back up to the devce - Mike |

ok i've copied my backup onto the device but it still will not start up, just freezes on the tom tom screen |

Did you try Mike's first suggestion first?
If not, try it now.
Also tell us if it was a backup made with TomTom "Home" or with Windows Explorer. |
