|
|
Hi!
I'm looking for some technical help for installing the SP2. The thing is that I had my S90i with the SP1 update, official speed-cam updates and maps installed on a computer which completely crashed (physically crashed!) some weeks ago. All Navman/Navdesk backup data was lost.
Now, all info is of course safely onboard the S90i. But with a new laptop I need to find out how to install Navdesk and at the same time update my Navman unit from SP1 to SP2. Of course, without deleting or corrupting any of the S90i data.
Where do I start and how do I solve it? (Will the downloaded SP2 file be enough or will I need the DVD as well?)
Thankful for any kind of solution! |

Is there any reason why you cannot just run the original cd with Navdesk on it ??
Once installed it will then update itself. |

Thanks for the reply!
Well, I ain't a techie but when installing Navdesk from the DVD, doesn't that require me to connect the S90i to the computer? The installing Navdesk would be SP "Zero" meanwhile the S90i is running on SP1 right?
Does the S90i update the Navdesk data, the other way around? |

When you install NavDesk, it may ask you to connect the unit, but that will not affect the Navdesk software.
Install Navdesk from the cd, then it should do a software update check, when it will then download SP2.
I would warn you though that I had a lot of problems downloading SP2 as it is a big file. Since Virgin took over Blueyonder, out Broadband here has tumbled from excellent to crap |

I'll give it a try, thanks!
But no worries about the file though. I have it already. It was forced down through good old Swedish 100Mbit broadband. |

One of the benefits must be the lack of Virgin media |
