What operating system are you using? If you're using Vista then it doesn't need additional software, if you're using XP or earlier FreeZip will do the job.
Having said all that, WinZip is well worth the money, it's the No1 solution for .zip archives for a reason. _________________ Darren Griffin |

XP lets me unzip stuff with no additional software, as far as I'm aware! _________________ Tim |

i've been using Ultimate Zip for quite a while now. its a good alternative to WinZip (and it's free).

No need for any extra programs with Windows XP either - just right click on the zip archive and select "extract all". |

Ah I knew Vista had it but couldn't recall if XP also did. Thankfully Windows is becoming a distant memory for me _________________ Darren Griffin |

But why? When both XP and Vista do it with just a right click? |

Winrar offers better control of what the application is doing, it is also useful for performing a manual installation of the Navcore CAB files direct to a TomTom device - a decent alternate to using the Home application once the CAB file has been downloaded by the Home application.
What I mean is swapping applications around on a device, if you want to roll back or forwards with the software installed to the device Winrar offers better capability than the native Windows support - Mike |

winrar is by far the best, and you can have a free trial google it, crystal is the latest and by far the best, much better than winzip imho! |
