Just tried to activate my brand new TTN5 maps of europe and it turns out theproduct is already activatedto a device code not belonging to me. So I can't activate it. The software is legal, boxed and genuine from www.globalpositioningsystems.co.uk
How do I solve this problem and how the **** do you actually get in contact with Tomtom themselves? |

I would telephone or email the company that you purchased it from and they will have to replace it if that is the case. |

I had the same problem on Friday. I contacted TomTom by phone. There was a lot of questions and lots of consultation their end. The result of all this? Send it back to the supplier.
So I contacted NavCity, where I had purchased it on-line, and they spoke to TomTom and in the end NavCity gave me a new Product Code, which presumably had been issued by TomTom. Worked straight off. _________________ Richard

I understand that some people have activated warez versons by spending days at their machines trying random codes until one works. Presumably, at some point someone will work out how the codes are generated and will produce a keygen - if your genuine key is generated by a pirate and used ot register a copy of the product, you will get screwed. |

Could this be why TTCode has been down recently?

As you purchased from Global Positioning Systems it could well be that they have supplied you with a returned product that has already been activated prior to it's return. I would phone them and throw the ball into their court, at the very least they should replace it. _________________ Graham.

On www.ttcode.com is normally mentioned how long you have to wait before you can re-activate.
2nd time after 7 days, and then after 180 days. If TomTom did not reply to you by Friday, you could try to re-activate on Friday, as then the first 7 days period has ended. |

You'd think so wouldn't you. You can't actually phone the technical services department, the only email I got back was blaming tomtom, tomtom say it is GPSsytems problem as the contract is with them. I was told the tech department don't have phones in their office, lets hope there is no emergency and they need to call emergency services. This is bloody crazy, all I want is some **** maps to get me round an **** country on holiday, I thought £100 was a good investment to do this but even if these clowns refund my money today, I still won't get the money back in time to spend on the kids on holiday! I will keep the forum updated as to what luck I have. |
