Software port

In order to have multiple programs share the GPS information, you need to use the GPS software port. This works fine if you start the 'other' program first, but TomTom can't open the software port by itself. You could go in and manually change the port on TomTom every time you use it depending on if you want to use something else at the same time.... yuck.

What if we had a program that would open the software port? What if we could make a shortcut that would start this program and TomTom at the same time? What if the smaller program could close itself automatically after 30 seconds to save device resources?

Does anyone know of such a solution that already exists? Or perhaps someone that could create such a program?

The port share within Microsoft Windows Mobile is still in nappys as far as capability is concerned, for the grown up version have a look at Fransons GPS Gate, it does considerably more than just port sharing, but it is very good at this. There is another free port splitter called something like Blue2 or 2Blue IIRC, but I don't have this, I simply use Fransons application, check out Handango.com for a trial version and then purchase it - Mike
