|

Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere - couldn't find it if it has ...
I'm looking at getting my dad one of the new ONE v4 regional models (the newest ones with the funky-looking new suction mount design) for his b'day ... I've read a lot of stuff about the v3 models not having the functionality to manage custom POIs unless it's 'reintroduced' using a custom menu at the expense of other functions - does the v4 also have this problem? Or is it able to deal with custom POIs "out of the box"? I ask because I want him to be able to install a few custom POI files onto the unit for him, so obviously I want to be sure that whatever I buy has the ability to deal with these.
Cheers. |

It will handle custom POIs out of the box. I have a ONE v4 here ands it's XL stable mate and both work fine.
What they have done is to force you back to the map screen after every individual POI you configure. A little frustrating when you're setting up the camera POis but not a huge issue.
The important bit is full custom POI support has not changed. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Bit of a shame - but I think as far as my dad's concerned the lack of itinerary functions isn't a deal-breaker. The lack of custom POI functions in the menus would've been, I think - so I'm glad to hear it's all present and correct, unlike the previous version. |

v4 does not support itinerary planning. with the v3 ist could be installed by creating a custom menue. is there any chance to get itinerary planning on a v4 e.g. prior firmware, copying whatever from older devices etc. etc.
pls. help! |

I've just looked at a new ONE XL V2 and compared it to the ONE V2, they both seem to have the same amount of memory, but the XL has itinerary planning and the ONE V4, doesn't. |
