Hi guys,

Just borrowed by Brothers XDA II Mini and wanted to see if I can connect the BlueGPS with it. I've installed the programs from the Royaltek CD ( copied the CAB files and ran on the PDA only, I didn't have ActiveSyn installed on my PC ) and I can connect to the GPS using the Royaltek GPS App.

Unfortunately, when I try to download datalogs, bluetooth will start dropping out connection randomly and I can never get more than 7% of the data into the PDA.

Just wondering if there is anybody out there with the XDA II Mini that is working okay with the BlueGPS ?? If so, is there any trick in the setup ?? Can this be relating to WM2003SE ?? Is there anybody with a PPC running WM2003SE that can download the datalog without any problem ??

I am doing a few searches on the net and I've got a feeling that this may also be relating to the Bluetooth stack/profiles that is installed on the PDA. However, there is a Serial Bluetooth GPS driver that came standard on the Royaltek CD which I've installed already.

Sorry about the long post and please excuse my ignorance on PPC. I am a PalmOS friend.

Ted

This isn't going to be much help, as I'm just going to confirm the symptoms.

I have an RBT-3000 and an Orange M5000 smartphone (ie HTC Universal) which runs Windos Mobile 5

The software seems to install ok (though the demo software doesn't work - but that doesn't bother me) The BlueGPS software loads fine, connects the the GPS fine and allows me to change settings. When it comes to downloading the logs it's a right bit*h though. It starts to download and randomly drops the connection part way though (saying connection is broken). This can happen after tens of points or several thousand, occasionally it will even make it to the end (so far only tested up to 24 000 points). I've turned off all other bluetooth devices, put both devices on mains power and turned off ALL other software on the mobile...this doesn't seem to make much difference.

There is another topic on this site

Where people are discussing building new software, if anyone has done this for windows ce/mobile I'd really like to see it, anyone else got any ideas this is driving me crazy.
