I want to know the amont of free ram you have on your Palm after loading. When I load small city map (Vancouver lower mainland ~3.6MB) I have about 1MB of free RAM. But When I load full Canada map (~128MB), I just have .2~.3mb of free RAM.
I'm thinking that this make my TomTom unstable (especially re-routing). So, how much free ram do you have on your Palm??
I have T|T5, SANDisk UltraII 1GB, and GlobalSAT BT GPS.
I have all the maps in Internal also tried in SD as well (same result). |

The maps should be on your SD card not the internal memory. If they are on the SD card it shouldn't impact on the amount of free internal memory |

I *do* use SD card as well as Internal storage RAM in palm T5. In palm t5, there are three different type of memory space, internal ram (64MB), internal storage space (160MB) and SD card.
I got some answer from TomTom which is useless..

Dear Mr lee,
Thank you for your email.
You will have to ensure that, on your PDA, you have at least 5mb of RAM free.
With best regards,

I guess he doesn't understand their product at all. The free ram reported in version information is free dynamic heap memory size. |

Hiya
where do u load ur main program from? I guess the TomTom guy was talking about the main memory of the T5 (ie the 64mb capacity bit). How much space do you have there? MOst programs will try to run from there although, as far as i understand, the slight anomoly can be in the internal. Some programs 'see it' as the main RAM and try to run the program within it, and so will come up with problems if you jam pack it with maps.
Appologies if you have done this but:
load main program into RAM (main memory) -leaving at least 5mb
load maps into SD
run program.
Memory after load program is difficult to tell as it will delete (at least part) of the temporary files it loads on to run it. _________________ PalmOne T5, Palm OS v5.4.2,
