|
|
Hi ive just got a go910
Updated it to Software Vr 7.161.8491, then bought new maps (only western europe not central) from TOMTOM Vr 720.1803, when i manage map and change to new map then restart it freezes the reboots again and again. I've had to restore to old map and it seems fine, so have i just wasted £59.99?
Is it best to delete old western¢ral europe map? i wouldnt think this would've made a difference?
Any ideas folks?

Why are you giving up so easily, no one has had a chance to even reply yet!
For a start, v7.161 is not the latest version of software for the x10 models, there has been a v7.162. How did you do the update?
Secondly, you may just have a corrupted download, you can download the map as many times as you like for a year. OR, if it is just an authorisation issue with the new map TomTom can sort it out. Ring them on 0845 161 0009 |

yea i know sorry!
Thats the only vr its giving me, all done through tomtom home.
Is there a way of downloading newer vr manually?
Could be corrupt download, ive just chk disk and trying to reboot as we speak. . . . . .seems to have worked? Looking at some forums they seem to think tomtom home is causing this problem? the way it writes to the disc?
Just need newer vr now then?

Manual download from Oldboy's archive HERE
On that page it says v7.162 is for the x00 models, but TomTom's own site says it is suitable for the x10's too HERE
To be honest, I don't think there are may differences though. |

Usual technique is to delete all files that are NOT in any folders and then paste the un-zipped/extracted files from Oldboy's download into the same place. You un-zip the archive file by right-clicking and selecting "extract all" in Windows XP.
As always, backup first.
As for postcodes you replace the same named files in the "zip" folder.
But are you sure you have v715 postcodes?
The latest file I've seen downloadable from TomTom's site (HERE) is called "wezipcodes715.zip" (typical TomTom!...)
...but this gives v701 UK and v710 NL postcode versions. |

Copy the old files to the PC just in case you find you need them, then simply copy/ replace the postcode files on the device - Mike |
