|
|
My Street pilot i3 is due to be replaced, and I have been really pleased with it so looking to get a best value for money new sat nav, have up to £130.00 to spend.
Do you have any suggestions on what I should get next? I do want to be able to add speed alerts etc from here, and maybe the other odd bit of custom stuff.
Looking for recommendations |

Do you want to stick with Garmin or are you happy to consider other options?
With your budget you can get a TomTom ONE or a refurbished TomTom 710 for example. _________________ Darren Griffin |

the 200 series are basically an i3 but with bigger, touch screen and photo viewer (a few other bits like calculator, currency convertor etc)
you can pick them up for under £100 if you shop around.
depends what you want - are you wanting TMC? MP3? text to speech? uk / europe / america maps?

oh aye, i forgot the 2x5's were out now!

scroll down (or search for '2x5')
oh yes, new user interface where next turn is shown in top left as well as speed always displaying whether navigating or not

I have just purchased a Navigo SY885 for £60 and absolutely well impressed with it, rock solid satellite reception, especially when delivering in central Manchester city centre and Birmingham. Which the i3 would lag.
Will the keep the i3 as a spare. |

Too late now for you NeilT I know but having been in a similar situation to you (i3 defunct), I plumped for McGuider for my already owned PDA and am well pleased so far.
PS Unlike Yoni (post seemingly deleted!), I have no axe to grind here. |
