250W USB Problem

Hi,

I can't seem to get my 250W to go into Mass Storage Mode no matter what I do. I've got a mini-usb cable which I know works because I use it with my camera. I turn off the 250W, insert the usb cable and the 250W then boots up. However, it's just in normal mode, there is no icons on the screen at all and on all 4 pcs I've tried there is no USB device showing, no 'searching for drivers' or anything.

Have I got a duff unit?

There's a faint possibility, that your 'camera' USB cable contains the same resistor, that Garmin use to signal that it is a charger that's attached. Trying another cable would eliminate that.

My original StreetPilot C510 was replaced by Garmin, because it stopped being recognised by the PC, so a similar fault on your Nüvi is a possibility.
