I have a TT510 its about 18 months old now and has map version, GB plus major roads of WE v650.1046. Is it worth purchasing the latest release? I have not encountered any significant problems so far any road changes I have come across don't seem to present a problem, but then I only use the device about once or twice a week. |

If you don't need the new map why spend the money? - although your map is quite out of date by now, since 650 there has been:
660
675
705
710
715
720
You will need to update the software on the device to version 7 in order to use the newer maps - Mike |

The software upon the device is already at 7.162. Until now I have not had a broadband connection so could not easily update anyway, I just wondered if the latest versions have significant improvements as many contributors to this forum seem to think some road changes that have been in place for several years are not included in recent maps so my question was really are the new maps a significant improvement or just a bit of window dressing? |

There HAVE been "thousands of kilometres" of new roads added to the new maps, but they never seem to be where you want them!
If you're happy with what you've got, why waste the money?
One thing you WOULD get, that you don't have at the moment, is "MapShare" which allows you to make minor changes to your own map and download changes from other people. But at the moment it isn't really living up to the hype, as in its present incarnation, you cannot add any actual roads or roundabouts etc. only block roads, correct their names and add or move built-in POIs. |
